We hear the term "self-care" all the time and I promise it's not that complicated! Self-care is actually very simple, applicable and beneficial. Here are the main 5 things to consider when we think about the term "self-care"
I'm sure you have a general idea about what self-care is. To simply define: Self-care is an intentional activity or a thought that supports you to take care of your mind, body, and soul. It is recharging and aims to make you feel connected with yourself and create a sense of harmony. Self-care will provide you an opportunity to connect with your inner self, with your emotions, body and, soul.

1- Self-care can come in any form
Self-care can be an activity, a behaviour, and a thought. It can simply be anything that makes you feel recharged, energized and refreshed. It can be anything from a calming self-talk to a therapy session or a pampering day.
2 - Self-care is free
Self-care doesn’t have to cost time or money. It’s not a luxury. It can be as simple as a 5-minute tea or a coffee break. You could have a cup of tea and have 5 minutes for yourself to recharge. 3- Self- care is not selfish
Self-care is not selfish. It is getting in touch with your emotions, with your inner self and it is actually the healthiest thing you can do. Remember, you can’t fill from an empty cup. When you feel energized and at your best, you will be at a great state to connect with others, and to share moments of joy with people around you.

4- Self-care is prevention
Self-care will protect you from having a burnout. It will make you resilient and strong and in hard times you will be able to handle things better. When you are feeling drained, you will also find it hard to handle difficult situations. Whereas, if you are feeling energized, your problem-solving skills will benefit from it too and you will be at the best state to handle difficult times.
